The Open Water Collection is inspired by a passion for swimming, nature and the great outdoors. The landscapes, within which we swim, are as varied as swimmers themselves. The collection captures the feelings and sensations we all experience being immersed in the open water.
We explore the themes of Sheltered water, Swimmers and Landscapes. Within these themes, you will find a variety of artistic styles and mediums that will inspire adventure in your own open water experiences.
Through these artists, we focus on the emotional experiences generated by the lidos, rivers, lakes, fenland and coastline of the United Kingdom.
Overhead view of a woman skinny dipping laying on her front with Lilly pads and fish around her.
To start our collection, we explore the unique character of some of our favourite Lidos and how their architectural style, fits within the landscape they are set.
We also look at how wild swimming in sheltered water, can provide a serene environment in which to seek solitude and meditation, and through which deep bonds of friendship can form.
This part of the collection explores the open water from the perspective of the swimmer.
It expresses how swimmers are engulfed by the calmness or turbulence of the water, and how that impacts the experience of every swim. A waterfall skinny dip, beach sunrise and water level view of a regatta, show just a few unique swimming experiences.
Landscapes are the environments within which we wild swim. They provide the backdrop to our adventures and feed into our cultural identities.
We are delighted to include an abstract exploration of the Fenlands in the East of England. This is our local landscape and is quite unique, certainly within the UK.
Through the medium of fluid Art we also take a Macro and Micro look at the swimming world.
